CPD Workshop
Date: 28/10/2021
Presenter: Tania Boshoff
Topic: Non-death Losses
Summary: The experience of loss is an unavoidable part of human life, mutually shared across all cultures. A significant portion of the existing literature on grief counseling focuses on grief in terms of bereavement, the death of a significant other, with limited literature on grief counseling for non-death-related losses. This presentation will aim to highlight the clinical importance of non-death losses. Attention will also be given to how grief models can be used for understanding and intervening with clients experiencing non-death losses, as often seen within the physical rehabilitation setting.
